Title: Learn to Swim Instructor
Reports To: Learn to Swim Coordinator & Swim Supervisor
Facility: Centennial Park
Status: Part-Time, Seasonal
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Learn to Swim Instructor will be responsible for teaching children to swim under the American Red Cross Learn to Swim Program guidelines.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must be at least 16 years of age or have proven abilities from prior work experience teaching swim lessons or equivalent experience.
 
Schedule:
The Centennial Family Aquatic Center Learn to Swim Instructor must be available for pre season, site specific training and orientation as designated by the Facility Manager. Learn to Swim Instructors are required to attend in-service training sessions as scheduled by the Learn to Swim Supervisors. Normal working hours will include Monday through Friday, 9:30am-1:15pm, Saturdays and Sundays 8:45am-11:15am. Hours may vary according to facility usage, number of class registrations, and weather conditions. This schedule will be altered as needed at the discretion of the Facility Manager or Learn to Swim Supervisors. Extra hours may be required at various times.

Title: Pool Maintenance  Part Time
Reports To: Assistant Facility Manager
Facility: Centennial Park
Status: Part-Time, Seasonal
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Centennial Maintenance worker is responsible for the general upkeep of the Aquatic Facility including offices, locker rooms, deck areas, pools and surrounding grounds. Water quality testing, accurate record keeping, basic equipment repair and ability to work independently are key elements to this job.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must be at least 18 years of age. Must complete a pre-employment physical exam as a condition of employment.



 
Schedule:
Must be available for pre-season site specific training to include: Proper chemical usage, safety equipment, emergency procedures, daily job duties, water quality testing, and record keeping and communication skills. Work all hours as scheduled by the Assistant Facility Manager.

Title: Lifeguard
Reports To: Assistant Facility Manager
Facility: Centennial Park
Status: Part-Time, Seasonal
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining the safety of the facility through vigilant scanning and observation of all pools. They will administer first aid as needed, activate the Emergency Action Plan when required, and actively participate in preventative Lifeguarding techniques as designated under the StarGuard Lifeguarding Program.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
Must be at least 16 years of age. As a condition of employment, must be able to pass all elements of the StarGuard Lifeguard training program including physical skills exams and written tests. To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
 
Schedule:
Must be available for all pre-season training sessions and the entire operating season, and the in-service training sessions designed by the Assistant Facility Manager. Lifeguards will be asked to work extra hours as weather and patron usage dictates. Lifeguards may be sent home due to inclement weather and/or closing of the facility.

Title: Graphic Designer
Reports To: Communications Manager
Facility: Administration Office
Status: Part-time
 
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Graphic Designer works with the Communications Manager and Marketing Assistant to create and produce brochures, flyers, posters and other promotional materials for both in-house use and distribution to the general public. Additional responsibilities include the creation of special event artwork, logos, flyers, posters and brochures as needed.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
Must have excellent people and communication skills. Able to multi-task projects. Knowledge of marketing, communications and photography functions. Strong project management skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Be self-motivated with a commitment to quality customer service. Ability to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends if needed. Have strong computer skills including experience with Mac OS, Photoshop, Illustrator, Quark, Excel and PowerPoint. Bachelor's degree in graphic arts or design. Two to three years graphic design experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Portfolio requested.

Title: Marketing Assistant

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
The Marketing Assistant is responsible for the research and writing of promotional and advertising materials for distribution to the general public and in-house; assistance in creating an e-newsletter and writing copy updates for the website; working with program supervisors to obtain sponsorships for special events; media purchasing and placement; creation and production of pieces including, but not limited to, special event flyers, posters and programs for the annual Ice Show Ad book, dance recitals and Starlight Theatre.
 
Required Education and Qualifications:
Must have strong writing, proofreading and editing skills. Excellent people and communication skills. Able to multi-task projects. Knowledge of marketing, communications, photography and public relations functions. Strong project management skills. Ability to prioritize work and meet deadlines. Ability to travel between and among facilities using personal automobile. Be self-motivated with a commitment to quality customer service. Ability to work a varied schedule including some nights and weekends if needed. Have strong computer and problem solving skills including experience with Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Bachelor's degree or three to four years relevant experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
