LAKEFRONT AQUATICS CAMPS
BEGINNER SAILING CAMP
Grade 4-8 as of the 2022-23 school year
Beginning sailors learn basic sailing terms, knots, safety and how to rig a boat. On the water, students will start sailing sunfish and work their way up to catamarans. Campers must be able to swim 50 feet and will be tested on the first day of camp. Location: Gillson Park, Sailing Beach

INTERMEDIATE SAILING CAMP
Grade 4-8 as of the 2022-23 school year
Intermediate sailors receive a review of the basics, then move to more independent time on the vessels. Sailors learn about wind, currents and safety skills. Campers must be able to swim 50 feet, and will be tested on the first day of camp. Location: Gillson Park, Sailing Beach

PRIVATE SAILING LESSONS
Grade 4-Adult as of the 2022-23 school year
Learn to sail in four one-hour lessons! Students learn how to rig a boat, basic safety on the water, knots, and sailing terms. On the water, students learn boat handling techniques, tacking, capsizing and recovery. There are no makeups for lessons, and bad weather days will have dry land lessons. AQUATICS CAMPS
Grade 5-8 as of the 2022-2023 school year
Experience the joys of living on Lake Michigan! Kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, boogie boarding, banana boat rides and swimming are just some of the activities at Aquatics Camp. During stormy weather, we head inside for board games and crafting. On the first day, campers learn fundamentals of water safety and how to operate all equipment. Campers must be able to swim 50 feet, and will be tested on the first day of camp. Location: Gillson Park

JR. LIFEGUARD CAMPS
Grade 6-9 as of the 2022-23 school year
Gillson beach lifeguards teach participants first aid, rescue techniques, CPR, and rip current education in this lifeguard fundamentals program. We celebrate the last day of the program with games, and present certificates of completion. Participants must be able to swim 100 meters in the lake, nonstop, using freestyle stroke, and will be tested on the first day of camp. Location: Gillson Park, Beach House

KAYAK AND SUP CAMPS
