Wilmette Park District

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update

We are pleased to announce that ALL PLAYGROUNDS will be opening on Saturday, June 27 due to the language contained in the revised Executive Order from the Governor’s office.

Park staff will be coming around to all playgrounds removing any remaining signage, caution tape, and reinstalling swings throughout the day on Saturday, June 27.  While we are excited to put our playgrounds back in service for the community, we strongly encourage the use of all safety precautions including the wearing of face coverings when in close proximity to people outside of your household.  Also, please note that the Park District will not be sanitizing outdoor playground equipment.  Outdoor drinking fountains will remain out of service for the foreseeable future.

We will continuously evaluate the situation and inform the community of any decisions made. We recognize the seriousness of the spread of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in our community. We urge all residents to follow the Center for Disease Control’s tips by staying home if sick; avoiding close contact with people who are sick; covering coughs and sneezes; avoiding touching eyes, nose and mouth; and washing hands with soap and water.
