Parents and tots participate in basic sports movement together in this class. We provide the equipment and instruction to help guide your child through an introduction to organized sports movement, including stretching, running, kicking, throwing, catching and more.
Adult/Tot Little Gymsters
This action-packed class for our littlest gymsters is all about building a positive association with fitness, and having fun together! With a parent, kids have a blast as they run, jump, hop, skip, stretch and play to gain strength, flexibility and cardio awareness. They'll improve motor development, spatial awareness, cognitive ability and socialization skills. Activities include: bean bag games, relay races, animal movements, soft Frisbees, circle games, obstacle courses, tagging games, parachute play, balloon activities, and other fitness and sports games.
Adult & Tot T-Ball
Enjoy America's favorite pastime with your child. Young children develop motor skills while having fun throwing, catching, batting, and base running like the big kids. Parents and their little athletes will enjoy making new friends and working together to learn the basics of game play in this exciting class!
Introduce your child to soccer, floor hockey, lacrosse, baseball, basketball, football and more! Our Sportsters develop both fine and large motor skills as we nurture social/emotional growth through teamwork and good sportsmanship.

Kids will have a blast as they run, jump, hop, skip, stretch and play to gain strength, flexibility and cardio awareness. Our Mini Movers will improve motor development, spatial awareness, cognitive ability, and socialization skills. We'll do all sorts of activities, including cardio exercises, bean bag games, relay races, animal movements, stretching techniques, circle games, obstacle courses, tagging games, catching balls, parachute play, and other fitness and sports games. Make sure to wear comfortable clothes and gym shoes for this action-packed class, where children develop a positive association with fitness!
Tot Floor Hockey
Does your child love the Blackhawks? This class will help your child learn the game of hockey before the skates go on. Drills for stick handling, passing, shooting, and goalie skills as well as team drills will be practiced in this class. Your child will enjoy learning the fundamentals and mechanics of this fast-paced and super-fun game.
Tot Track & Field
This unique class combines stretching, movement, and other fitness concepts with running, jumping, throwing and other skills used in track and field. Children work on body coordination, agility, balance, and self-confidence. The session concludes with a fun-filled track and field meet on the last day of class.
Gym N' Sports
Children spend the first 60 minutes in the Sports Gym playing a variety of sports such as soccer, basketball, floor hockey, football and more, and then the next 45 minutes in the Gymnastics Gym. Pickup for this class is in the Gymnastics Gym.
Lacrosse for Tots
Join us to experience one of the fastest growing sports in recent years. We use age-appropriate-size sticks and softer balls for safety. Boys and girls learn techniques including cradling, passing, shooting, goalie skills, and much more. Game play is also included in this class.

Adult & Child Archery
You and your child will meet new friends while learning the parts of an arrow and recurve bow, the basics of using a recurve bow, a nationally-recognized beginners' 9 steps to the 10-ring progression method, and fundamental shooting skills from an experienced instructor. We furnish all bows, arrows, and targets.
Learn the basics of archery using a recurve bow in a safe environment, where targets and blunt-tipped arrows are used. We teach a nationally-recognized nine-step progression, and provide all the bows, arrows, and targets your child needs. No class: September 16

Adult & Tot T-Ball

In this program, boys and girls learn baseball fundamentals such as running the bases, throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting the ball off a tee. Exciting drills and games help children learn about teamwork and good sportsmanship, in an atmosphere where participation and fun are top priority.
Illinois Baseball Academy Fall Leagues
Participants in both the Minor and Major Leagues can sign up individually, as part of a small group, or as a complete 10-member team.
IBA Fall Minor League (T-Ball)
For ages 3-4, IBA Minor League players gain confidence, improve coordination, and appreciate the joys of teamwork and sportsmanship. Each week, IBA coaches teach and guide the practice of a new baseball skill. Players learn and have fun through age-appropriate drills and games.
IBA Fall Major League (Coach Pitch)
For Kindergarteners or players with one year of T-ball experience, this league represents the next step in the progression of IBA programs. Each week, in addition to skill development, the players in Major League participate in coach-pitch games where they learn positions, play with outs, and experience baseball at a higher level.
2021 Fall League teams must have at least one parent-volunteer [coach] to assist in all team safety protocols.

WBA Intro to Baseball
Don't miss the 2021 WBA Intro to Baseball Fall League! Intro is for Kindergarten and 1st graders looking to learn more baseball skills and increase their confidence on the field. Players will receive professional coaching on throwing, hitting, fielding and base-running in a fun and positive environment. Following instruction, players participate in weekly coach-pitch games. All sessions are coached by Illinois Baseball Academy.
About Wilmette Baseball Association (WBA)
Wilmette Baseball Association (WBA) serves the youth of Wilmette and their families with recreational and competitive baseball programs for first grade through high school students at all skill levels. WBA mentors players in the physical and mental fundamentals of baseball while promoting life skills, including teamwork, sportsmanship, strategic thinking, competitions and community pride in a safe, encouraging and enriching environment. Programs run year round and include dozens of house league teams at age appropriate levels as well as competitive, travel organizations that represent the Wilmette community across the North Shore.
Even future stars needed to learn the basics of dribbling, passing, shooting, and rebounding. Participants will also experience defensive drills as they learn the game of basketball.

[Fencing Center of Chicago]
The Olympic sport of fencing demands a blend of tactical and strategic thought, and a physical execution of those decisions. We cover basic rules, etiquette, footwork, attacks and defenses. Classes consist of warmup time, footwork time, a group lesson and bouting. We provide all equipment.
Dad & Me Football
Enjoy Nerf football with your son or daughter. You, along with our accomplished coaches, will help your little athlete learn the proper form and technique of catching, throwing, center skills, hand-offs, kick-offs and more, in our fun and friendly setting.
Fun With Football
Are you ready for some football? This class covers passing, catching, and team offense/defense in a safe and fun environment, using Nerf footballs. We'll play controlled scrimmages once players have learned the basic skills.
[On The Go Sports]
This high-energy non-contact football clinic teaches the fundamentals, including passing, receiving, blocking, and routes. Participants receive top-notch instruction from coaches who have played the sport on a collegiate or professional level. On-The-Go Sports is lead by former Northwestern star and Chicago Bear Chris Martin. Classes include scrimmages, and occasional guest speakers. Location: West Park
Basic techniques of Taekwondo, combined with deep breathing exercises, help children develop proper posture, concentration, and coordination. Practice of proper manners helps to develop courtesy, self-esteem and self-control. Class is taught in a relaxed and fun environment. Students should wear a martial arts uniform during class (white Taekwondo uniform-dobock, which can be ordered at the class). Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. Taekwondo for Adults
Age 18 & up
This class is for beginners who want to learn traditional Taekwondo for self-defense, health, physical fitness and stress release. The instructor emphasizes practice of basic blocks, punches, kicks, stretches and deep breathing. Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. Uniforms can be purchased in class. In our Pre-Karate classes, children develop flexibility, strength, and coordination through fun, yet disciplined, activities. This program is specifically designed for growing minds and bodies to enhance memory and agility. Watch your child's confidence blossom as their skills improve! Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor. NOTE: beginning students will not be permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met.
Age 7 & up
Develop flexibility, strength and coordination in fun, yet disciplined activities. This program offers a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules. Uniforms and Belt Testing are available from our instructor. Our Youth, Parent/Child and Adult classes may train together. Beginning students may not join the current session after the second class has met.

Has your younger one been begging for the opportunity to play in a soccer league? Here is the chance to play in real games, as well as learn the fundamentals of soccer, coordination skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. We rely on volunteer parent coaches for this program. We practice for the first two weeks, and play games for the following five. Location: Community Playfields.

Youth Soccer League - Fall 2021/Spring 2022

Boys and girls play in separate leagues which are divided into grade levels depending on the number of registered players. Grades K-4 players are divided into teams based on the school they attend. 5-8 grade players will play on mixed school teams. All NEW teams will be formed for the Fall 2021 season and remain together for the Spring 2022 season. We do not accept friend requests or preferred team placement requests.
Uniforms & Equipment: Team uniforms consisting of jersey, shorts and socks are provided by the Park District and should be worn to all games. These uniforms are for both the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 season. Participants need to provide their own rubber soccer cleats and shin guards.
Coaches: We rely on parents and friends to handle coaching duties. Anyone interested in volunteering may contact Andy Zavattero at 847-920-3928 or email@example.com. There will be a maximum of two coaches per team at all levels.
Games: All games are played on Saturdays at the Community Playfields, located between Highcrest Middle School and Wilmette Junior High School. The games take place between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Coach Abe's Soccer Academy I
A great introduction to the game of soccer for age 3-4. Each player learns the first steps of ball mastery and acquires the necessary building blocks for success in the future. We teach the following moves: Stop and Go, Rollbacks, controlled dribbling, dancing on the ball, Beckenbaur and many more. The Early Fall session will meet outside!
Coach Abe's Soccer Academy II
Come play soccer with Coach Abe in a fun and safe environment! As each child progresses, they learn new and more challenging moves. We introduce new concepts at each level, with new games and a broader understanding of the tactical side. The game is broken down to each student's level; Coach Abe takes pride in improving everyone's game. Students learn the following moves: Zig-Zag dribbling, Tuck and Under, inside hook, outside hook, the Maradona, Cruff, scissors, and many more. We finish each class with a scrimmage.
Pickleball for Adults
Age 18 & up and Age 50 & up
Pickleball, a game that combines elements of tennis, badminton and ping-pong, is sweeping the country! Pickleball players use wooden paddles and Whiffle balls to play on a badminton-sized court with a slightly modified tennis net. This class is for those who are new to the game, or who have very limited experience. We focus on pickleball basics, such as forehand and backhand shots, serving and court positioning. Players also learn scoring and the rules of Pickleball through drills and playing time. All equipment is provided.

Instructional & Game Play Pickleball

This class is for advancing beginners who have some experience and want to move at a faster pace to improve their basic shots and strategy. Players participate in challenging drills to work on consistency in forehand and backhand shots, serving, volleying, dinks and lobs. Through matches played each week, players will take their game to the next level by learning how to play smarter, not harder. We provide the equipment.

This clinic includes instruction on all major volleyball skills; serving, passing, setting and attacking. Players receive a solid foundation of these fundamental skills through fun and active drills, building up to team play. Come and experience the classic game of NERF Battle at Wilmette Park District! Participants will be divided into two teams and battle it out to see who will reign victorious. Each participant will be provided with Nerf darts and goggles. Participants must bring their own Nerf blaster.
Intro to Floor Hockey
Join us to learn the basics of floor hockey through skill development stations that involve dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, and goalkeeping skills. Please provide your child with a water bottle and a mouth guard.
