BUNNY BRUNCH - ***Registration is closed.

9-10 am
New Location: Mallinckrodt Center

Join us before the Easter Egg Hunt for brunch at the Mallinckrodt Center! Refreshments and food will be served while the Easter Bunny hops around for photos with everyone. If you want to come with your dog, grab a plate and sit outside on our doggie deck. Pre-registration is required for this delicious breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Hunts begin at 10 am sharp!
New Location: Mallinckrodt Park

The hunt is on for colorful eggs in the grass! Eggs contain prizes and candy. Children participate in their age group only. Multiple age-group egg hunts will take place at one time on various fields. Don't forget to take a picture with the Easter Bunny before you leave! Parents or guardians are only allowed on the field with the 1-2 year old age group. Please bring your own bag or basket to collect eggs. You must pre-register to participate; there will be no onsite registration. This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

DOGGIE EGG HUNT - ***Registration is closed.

Saturday, April 1
Hunt begins at 11:30 am sharp!

New location: Mallinckrodt Park
Your dog will help sniff out eggs that are filled with treats! One handler of the dog must be 18 years of age or older. All dogs must remain on-leash for the entire event, be at least four months old to participate, and wearing current rabies tags. Both hunts will take place at the same time on different fields. After the event, make sure to grab a picture with the Easter Bunny! Please bring your own bag or basket. You MUST pre-register to participate; there will be no on-site registration. This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather. Fee is per dog.
** Please note, this hunt is specifically for dogs. Handlers may guide dogs to eggs, but must not hunt for eggs on their own separately.

EARTH DAY AT KEAY

Keay Nature Center, Hibbard Rd & Skokie Blvd, Wilmette, IL 60091
FREE FAMILY EVENT
Celebrate Earth Day at Keay! Walk or bike to your neighborhood nature center and join the Park Board in a ribbon cutting for the improvements at Keay. Explore the trails as you learn about nature, plants and trees with a scavenger hunt, or create a bird feeder at our craft station. Parking is limited on site - please plan ahead to walk, bike, or travel up the road from the Community Recreation Center - the Earth will thank you! Extend the day and pack a zero-waste picnic to stay after the event and enjoy lunch in the park. Special thanks to the Ouilmette Foundation for funding the recent upgrades around Keay Nature Center!

TOUCH-A-TRUCK
FREE EVENT for all ages

10 am-Noon
Touch-A-Truck puts kids in the driver's seat! Join the Wilmette Park District, Village of Wilmette, US Coast Guard and more during this FREE and unique opportunity to explore trucks of all types all in one place. Inspect the equipment, meet the men and women who operate the big rigs and learn how they help us in our community. Attendees, both young and young at heart are allowed to touch, climb, and ask questions about their favorite trucks in a safe, supervised environment. ***NEW - our event will begin with 20 minutes of sensory-friendly time. We ask visitors not to blow horns or honk the vehicles so that noise-sensitive visitors can enjoy the event.*** Registration is not required. This event takes place in the parking lot of Centennial Recreation Center (2300 Old Glenview Road). This event may be cancelled due to inclement weather.

ROCK N' KIDS

Join us for movement-based learning and imaginative play with music. Activities involve songs and rhymes, rhythm and coordination, fine and gross motor skill development, imagination, sensory experiences and building direction-following and listening skills. Join us for musical fun that can't be beat! Wednesday mornings

BREAKDANCE
Age 5-12
Under the creative direction of skilled Chicago Loves Dance breakdancers, students will learn choreography and poses to show off their creativity in freestyle sessions and more. Chicago Loves Dance believes that dance should open your child's creative abilities and be FUN! They take pride in teaching the self-esteem and socialization skills needed in everyday life through the activity of dance and performance. The last day of class is a parent watch day, where dancers will perform to show off their new talents.Tuesday late afternoons

CHEERLEADING

Come learn cheers and poms routines as well as beginning level stunts at this fun, energetic class! Each season brings a new set of activities that your child will enjoy learning. Tuesday evenings

PARENT/CHILD YOGA
Age 5-10
We supply the mats; all you need to do is come ready for some yoga and stretch! Under the creative direction of skilled yoga instructors who have designed this class for the comfort level of both you and your child, we learn poses, movements, stretches and, most importantly, spend quality time together. A parent is not mandatory; any adult/guardian is welcome to attend with your child. Add an additional child to the class for $40. Wednesday evenings or Sunday mornings

We supply the mats; all you need to do is come ready for some yoga and stretch! In this class, kids learn beginning yoga movement, poses, terms and yoga-based games to make learning fun. Wednesday or Thursday late afternoons

AMAZING MINDS
Age 5-8
Sharpen your skills in math, science, geography and reading through fun, hands-on, theme-based activities, AND take home exciting souvenirs! Science comes alive as we investigate rocks and minerals, flight and weather; explore math through learning about money, geometry and shapes; and "travel" to destinations such as China, Ancient Egypt, Italy, Washington DC and Australia. Improve reading skills with our hands-on reading games involving the animal kingdom, ocean creatures and much more! Monday afternoons

[Chess Ed]
CHESS ENRICHMENT
Age 5-12
This magical and exciting "sport of the mind" will exercise your child's brain! Instruction will include the basics, and then move into tactics and strategy, opening theory, middle game planning and endgame combinations. This program teaches chess, but also builds life skills. A U.S. Chess Federation-certified instructor leads the class. Monday afternoons

AMIGOS SPANISH CLUB
Age 5-10
Learning Spanish is as easy as uno, dos, tres! In the Afterschool Amigos Spanish Club, children will learn numbers, colors, shapes, greetings, days of the week and more. We will be singing, clapping, and counting our way towards learning the Spanish Language. Wednesday afternoons

POKEMON ENGINEERING USING LEGO® MATERIALS
Age 5-7
Calling all Pokemon trainers! With the Pokemon Championship approaching, join our enthusiastic Play-Well Instructors as we build and catch our favorite Pokemon, rescue Pikachu from Team Rocket, take a ride on the S.S. Anne to uncover rare and mystic Pokemon, and battle to see who will hold the title of Pokemon Master. Come along on our journey to catch 'em all! Tuesday afternoons

LEGO® Master, I choose you! In the race to be crowned the Ultimate Pokemon Champion, we need your help. Learn to build your favorite Pokemon, level up by teaching them special moves, evolve them into more powerful versions, and come face to face with the current champion in an epic battle for the title. Learn from our Play-Well Pokemon Masters so you can make it to the top! Thursday afternoons


Dog Training

PERFECT PUPPY
Age 18 & up
Help your puppy learn to become responsible for his own actions. Your pup will learn the basics: sit, down, stay, come, leave it, get started on leash walking, socialization and learn other helpful skills. For puppies 8 weeks to 5 months of age. Saturday mornings

FRESH START BEGINNER
Age 18 & up
Help your adult dog learn to become responsible for his own actions. Your dog will learn the basics: sit, down, stay, come, leave it, get started on leash walking, and other helpful skills. Please contact instructor Sally Bushwaller at sally@bushwaller.com so she can determine if this class is a good fit for you and your dog. Tuesday evenings

INTRO TO K9 NOSE WORK
Age 18 & up
Let your dog do what she's genetically programmed to do--search for, and find, scent. Nose Work builds confidence, teaches creative problem solving, and provides mental exercise. Build your relationship with your dog while having fun doing something your dog will love! Dogs are crated when not working, therefore dogs who don't love other dogs will enjoy this class. Fee is per class. Tuesday evenings or Saturday mornings

CONTINUING K-9 NOSE WORK
Age 18 & up
In this advanced class, we work on complex hides including interior, vehicle, exterior and container searches. Dogs must be crated or behind a barrier when not working in class. Please bring your own crate. If you are interested in this class but have not taken Intro to Nose Work, please contact Sally at sally@bushwaller.com. Fee is per class. Thursday evenings

GRAD SCHOOL FOR DOGS
Age 18 & up
This advanced class works on improving your dog's stay, recall and leash walking skills. Your dog must have attended Perfect Puppy or Fresh Start Beginner prior to attending this class. Bring a dog bed to class each week. Saturday mornings
