Summer Gymnastics CLASSES

Moms/Dads & Tots Gymnastics
A parent/child introduction to gymnastics. Each class begins with a group warm-up activity, followed by a coach-guided activity on the trampoline. Then, parents and children explore all of the gymnastics equipment together, developing the child's physical skills, flexibility, body awareness and strength. Tots must have reached two years of age before enrollment.

Recreational Gymnastics: Age 3
The Wilmette Park District's gymnastics staff emphasizes self-confidence rather than competition. Tots are encouraged to develop new physical skills while gaining strength, flexibility and muscular coordination. Students should wear tight-fitting clothing or leotards. Children must be age 3 at the start of the program.
NOTE: Parents are required to be present in the lobby during class time in case hugs, kisses and bathroom breaks are needed.

Recreational Gymnastics: Age 4-6
These classes include Kindergartners. Children must be age 4 at the start of the program. All children will be grouped according to age and ability.

Tumbling Class: Age 9-17
The primary focus of this class will be to learn the tumbling skills ranging from handstand and cartwheel to back handspring and back tucks.

GIRLS Recreational Gymnastics:
Participants learn fundamental gymnastics for all Olympic events. Students are grouped according to age and ability, and progress at their own pace.

GIRLS Intermediate-Advanced Classes:
These skill-based classes are for focused, more advanced gymnasts. Gymnastics staff will monitor the progress of all students, and recommend advancement to these classes when appropriate.

BOYS Recreational Gymnastics:
The Gymnastics staff teaches fundamental gymnastics for all Olympic events. Students are grouped according to age and ability, and progress at their own pace.

Beat the Heat:
Finish summer on a high note! Build your own schedule for the last 2 weeks of summer. We are running daily, morning sessions from August 9 through August 20.

Adult Gymnastics: Age 18 & up
Why let the kids have all the fun? Now it's your turn! Adult participants will be led through various flexibility and strengthening exercises while also learning basic skills on all men's and women's Olympic gymnastics events and trampoline.
