  • Date: Saturday, November 18
  • Time: 11-11:50 am
  • R-$29 / NR-$36
  • Age: 3-8

Enjoy a storytime and mindfulness workshop with local author, Michele Foote. Michele will read her picture book, What Should We Do Today, Mommy?, and discuss the joy of being in the present moment and seeing the world with fresh eyes – like a child!

Following storytime, adults and children will practice simple breathing exercises and playful games to plant and cultivate the seeds of mindfulness that are already within all of us. Everyone will practice gratitude by discussing the good in the day (or Michele refers to this as the “magic” in the day) by drawing and journaling everyday and ordinary moments. Michele will then share how mindfulness can change our brains, building new neural connections, making us calmer, happier, and more resilient.

A little about Mindfulness...

Over the last several years there has been exciting and proven research in how mindfulness leads to greater overall physical health, mental health, and ignites passion and creativity. This event is a wonderful way to introduce mindfulness at a young age, when children are most open to learning new habits, and inspire them to develop their own mindfulness practice as the grow. Children and adults will enjoy this fun and engaging event! A wonderful way to slow down and connect with your child.

What to expect

Adults and children will benefit from this storytime and introduction to mindfulness workshop and reflect on how they are feeling before and after a mindfulness practice. Children will leave the event excited to create their very own picture book, capturing their own special everyday and ordinary moments. Any adult/guardian is welcome to attend; no prior experience is necessary.
