CLICK HERE To view the 2025 Notice of Proposed Property Tax Increase for Wilmette Park District.

The Truth in Taxation law establishes procedures taxing districts must follow in the adoption of their property tax levies; see 35 ILCS 200/18-55. The Truth in Taxation law requires a taxing district to compare the amount of its proposed aggregate property tax levy, to the amount of taxes extended for the district in the prior year. A notice must be published in a newspaper and a public hearing must be held, if the proposed aggregate tax levy is more than 5% greater then the previous year’s tax extension.

A public hearing to approve a proposed property tax levy increase for the Wilmette Park District for 2025 will be held on December 8 at 7:30 p.m. at 1200 Wilmette Ave, Wilmette, IL 60091.

In compliance with PA 97-0609, total compensation disclosure information is available for public inspection at the Wilmette Park District Administrative Office, 1200 Wilmette Avenue, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This information is for IMRF Members, IMRF Employers, Public Officials, Media and General Public.

In 2021, the State of Illinois enacted Public Act 102-0265 – Vendor Information Reporting. This law requires that any taxing district with a property tax levy of more than $5,000,000 must make a good faith effort to collect and electronically publish data as to whether vendors and subcontractors doing business with the taxing district are minority, women, or veteran-owned businesses. The Wilmette Park District is included in this requirement.

Wilmette Park District Receives Award for Excellence in Financial Reporting

18 Years of Financial Reporting Excellence

For the 18th consecutive year, Wilmette Park District has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (COA) by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada.

The award recognizes the District’s Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2024. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, signifying a notable accomplishment for a public agency and its management.

Reports are evaluated through a rigorous review process to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and GFOA program standards. Only submissions that demonstrate a “spirit of full disclosure” and exceed minimum reporting requirements receive this distinction.

“We are honored to once again be recognized by the GFOA,” stated Sheila Foy, Superintendent of Finance. “Receiving this award for the 18th consecutive year demonstrates our team’s commitment to transparency and responsible financial management for the Wilmette community.”
