Get to know the Interim Executive Director, Margaret Resnick! Ask questions and introduce yourself over coffee at Lakeview Center.


A brief background of Margaret’s experience & accomplishments:

Margaret Resnick worked for over 30 years in parks and recreation. She held the position of Executive Director at Mundelein Park & Recreation District, Clyde Park District and Deputy Director at Bolingbrook Park District. Margaret earned a Bacehlors Degree from Southern Illinois University and a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She retired from the Mundelein Park & Recreation District in May 2020.  Since retiring, she has worked with the Village of Libertyville’s Recreation Department to assist as they rebuilt after the pandemic and with Northern Illinois University to assist the Illinois Department of Natural Resources’ OSLAD Grant program. She also served as Interim Executive Director for the Illinois Park & Recreation Association during their search for a new Executive Director.

Her involvement in the field also includes committee work with the Illinois Association of Park Districts and the Illinois Park & Recreation Association. For IPRA she served on the Board of Directors and Director of the Administration and Finance Section. For IAPD and IPRA’s Joint Committees she served as Chair of the Conference Committee and Chair of the Distinguished Accreditation Committee. She was awarded IPRA’s Young Professional Award and received IPRA’s Professional Award twice.

Margaret has been a presenter at the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference, the Women in Leisure Services Leadership Conference and the National Recreation and Park Association Conference.

Margaret has worked with several grants through the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (OSLAD and PARC) as well as Lake County Storm Water Management and IAPD.

She loves spending time with her children and grandchildren, enjoys reading and traveling, is attempting to improve at golf and has sampled the pickleball craze.
