Native Planting Workshop

While visiting Mallinckrodt and many of our other parks, you’ll notice a variety of plants native to the Illinois region. Join the Park District staff on a spring morning to learn about the benefits of these native species and gain hands-on experience putting them in the ground.

This two-hour workshop begins with an indoor lesson covering the basics of native planting. In the second hour, you’ll head outside to the Mallinckrodt gardens to learn more about native species and obtain practical planting advice. This workshop is free, but registration is required.
