Holiday Season Special Events

Celebrate the Holiday Season with our special events and Park District traditions! Keep up with the hustle and bustle with our handy list, below.

11/22-12/8
All Ages at Mallinckrodt Park Gazebo

Mail your letter to Santa at the magical North Pole Mailbox located in Mallinckrodt Park! Include a self addressed, stamped envelope so that Santa can write you back. Hurry hurry! All letters must be dropped off in the mailbox by December 8!

12/2 all day
Only one day, only online!

Take advantage of the Cyber Monday Sale and save on 2025 Season Beach & Pool Passes and (NEW THIS YEAR) purchase your Lakefront Parking Decals early!

12/6 & 12/7 at 7 pm
Age 21 & up at Lakeview Center

Our Wilmette Park District Tradition is back! Start with a box house and cover with our handmade frosting. Embellish with candy, cookies and goodies. Be sure to bring your imagination, a box or tray to carry your confection home, and don’t forget to BYOB! The fee is per gingerbread house. Register by Wednesday, November 20!

12/7 & 12/8 at 1 & 3 pm
Age 4 & up at Community Recreation Center

Our Wilmette Park District Tradition is back! Start with a box house and cover with our handmade frosting. Embellish with candy, cookies, and goodies. Be sure to bring your imagination and a box or tray to carry your confection home. Adults are welcome to make their own or work alongside their child, or register for the popular Adult Gingerbread House Workshop. The fee is per gingerbread house. Register by Wednesday, November 20!

12/7, 12/14 & 12/21 at 8, 9:45 or 11:30 am
All ages at The Lawn Grill ( Wilmette Golf Club)

Celebrate the holiday season breakfast and a visit with Santa! Take a photo and enjoy a magical morning with friends & family at The Lawn Grill.

12/11 from 3-7 pm
Age 21 & up at Mallinckrodt Center

This holiday season, save yourself from the wrapping whirlwind and spread some festive cheer! Drop off up to ten of your holiday gifts and let our merry band of Holiday Wrapsters work their magic. In lieu of a fee, we kindly request non-perishable food items for the New Trier Township Food Pantry. Choose a convenient time for dropoff at Mallinckrodt, enjoy same-day pickup, and support a heartwarming cause!

12/13-12/15 shows at 2 & 7 pm
All Ages at the Community Recreation Center Auditorium

Celebrate the holiday season with the Wilmette Park District’s annual tradition! The Nutcracker production is a magical night of performing arts and storytelling. Our dance and theater departments collaborate every year to bring this special performance to life. Support the arts and enjoy a holiday show like no other! Ticket sales open 11/19 – limited seating available.

12/15 from 1-2:30 pm
All ages at Centennial Ice Rinks

Cheer on our skaters and enjoy a FREE holiday celebration at Centennial Ice!

*Please note, there is NO PUBLIC SKATE on 12/15.

*Register to Perform! Wilmette Centennial Ice Rinks skating program participants are welcome to participate in the Holiday Exhibition. Registration forms are are available at the rink office and need to be turned in with choice of music no later than November 24.

12/24 from 11 am-12:30 pm
All ages at Centennial Ice Rinks

Enjoy a holiday-themed public skate! We’ll have cocoa, candy canes, plus a visit from St. Nick! Please bring a non-perishable food donation for the Wilmette Food Pantry!
*No Public Skate later in the afternoon – attend Skate with Santa instead and enjoy a holiday-themed session on the ice!
