PARENT / TOT SPORTS
Age 2-3 w/adult
Sign up your little one for the ultimate first-time sports experience! Each week, adults assist their tots as they play a body-challenging sport, improve listening skills, and learn how to follow directions. We explore a variety of sports such as soccer, t-ball, basketball, and kickball through fun games and partner play. We assist parents as they guide their children through exploratory movement, large motor play, and interactive activities. Through obstacle courses, balloons and paddles, ball skills, parachute time, creative exercises, free time play and sports games, children develop body awareness, build social skills, and expand their imaginations. Let's play! Your child explores the wide world of sports as they participate in a different sport each week, such as t-ball, track & field, basketball, lacrosse and soccer. ARCHERY

ARCHERY

Age 7-13
Archery participants learn the parts of an arrow and recurve bow, the basics of using a recurve bow, and fundamental shooting skills in an extremely safe environment. They also learn an excellent, nationally-recognized beginner's 9-step to the 10-ring progression, created by the Coaches Development Committee of the National Archery Association. Both technique and games are part of this class. We provide the blunt-tipped arrows, bows, and targets. Bring a labeled water bottle. Thursday afternoons or Saturday mornings; no class July 2


BASEBALL

Enjoy America's favorite pastime with your child. Young children develop motor skills while having fun throwing, catching, batting, and base running like the big kids. Parents and their little athletes will enjoy making new friends and working together to learn the basics of game play in this exciting class! Bring a labeled water bottle and mitt. LITTLE SLUGGERS
Age 3-5
In this program, boys and girls learn baseball fundamentals such as running the bases, throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting the ball off a tee. Exciting drills and games help children learn about teamwork and good sportsmanship, in an atmosphere where participation and fun are top priority. Bring a labeled water bottle and mitt. WBA INTRO TO BASEBALL SUMMER LEAGUE
Grades K-1
This 6-week Intro Summer League is to help Kindergarten and 1st grade players further develop their baseball skills while also increasing their understanding of the rules of the game. To ensure participants have a positive experience, IBA coaches oversee a weekly one-hour skills clinic for each player as well as a game where players can showcase what they are learning. Practices are Mondays or Tuesdays afternoons. Games are Wednesdays or Thursdays afternoons. No Class July 4; July 8 will be a make-up class.

This class is designed to introduce the sport of basketball to children and help them to develop motor skills and hand-eye coordination through fun skills and games. BASKETBALL CLINICS
Age 5-9 and 10-13
Join the Wilmette Athletics coaching staff for our youth basketball clinics! Coaches instruct players through a variety of age-appropriate drills to develop ball handling skills, shooting form, and court awareness. Players apply these skills in fun games including sharks and minnows, dribble knockout, and steal the bacon. Tuesday afternoons

STORM SUMMER BASKETBALL

Grade 4-6 and 7-8
These clinics are designed for the competitive basketball player looking to advance and learn new skills in the off-season. Participants are organized by grade, and the staff of Hot Shots Sports provides instruction and facilitates scrimmages at each clinic. Wednesday evenings

FENCING

Age 6-9 and 9-12
The Olympic sport of fencing demands a blend of tactical and strategic thought, and a physical execution of those decisions. We cover basic rules, etiquette, footwork, attacks and defenses. Classes consist of warmup time, footwork time, a group lesson and bouting. We provide all the equipment. Monday or Friday afternoons

Age 3-4
Enjoy Nerf football with your son or daughter. You, along with our accomplished coaches, will help your little athlete learn the proper form and techniques for catching, throwing, center skills, hand-offs, kick-offs and more, in a fun and friendly setting. Saturday mornings; no class July 2

[On-The-Go Sports]
NON-CONTACT FOOTBALL

Age 6-12
This high-energy non-contact football clinic teaches the fundamentals, including passing, receiving, blocking, and routes. Participants receive top-notch instruction from coaches who have played the sport on a collegiate or professional level. On-The-Go Sports is lead by former Northwestern star and Chicago Bear Chris Martin. Classes include scrimmages, and occasional guest speakers. Location: West Park. LACROSSE

LACROSSE FOR TOTS
Age 4-6
Play lacrosse like the big kids! This recreational class for girls and boys covers basic lacrosse techniques, including cradling, scooping, passing, catching, shooting, and goalie skills. We use age-appropriate-size sticks and softer balls for safety. Bring a labeled water bottle. Saturday afternoons; no class July 2

Join us to experience one of our fastest-growing sports! MARTIAL ARTS

PRE-KARATE/SAFETY
Age 4-7
In our Pre-Karate classes, children develop flexibility, strength, and coordination through fun, yet disciplined, activities. This program is specifically designed for growing minds and bodies to enhance memory and agility. Watch your child's confidence blossom as skills improve! Uniforms and belt testing are options available through the ISKC instructor. NOTE: beginning students are not permitted to register into the current session after the second class has met. TAEKWONDO
Age 6-12 and 7-18
Basic techniques of Taekwondo, combined with deep breathing exercises, help children develop proper posture, concentration and coordination. Practice of proper manners helps to develop courtesy, self-esteem and self-control. Class is taught in a relaxed and fun environment. Students should wear a martial arts uniform during class (white Taekwondo uniform-dobock, which can be ordered at the class). Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. YOUTH/ADULT KARATE
Age 7 & up
Develop flexibility, strength and coordination in fun, yet disciplined activities. This program offers a good mix of strength training, with cardiovascular and flexibility exercises. Students increase their coordination, agility and poise, as well as learn lasting personal safety skills. They also benefit from the mental stimulation of learning the choreographed moves of the kata and the discipline of conforming to the class rules. Uniforms and Belt Testing are available from our instructor. Our Youth, Parent/Child and Adult classes may train together. Beginning students may not join the current session after the second class has met. Tuesday evenings

Parent/Child classes are a great way to spend quality time with your child while conditioning muscles, developing coordination and improving cardiovascular fitness. TAEKWONDO FOR ADULTS
Age 18 & up
This class is for beginners who want to learn traditional Taekwondo for self-defense, health, physical fitness and stress release. The instructor emphasizes practice of basic blocks, punches, kicks, stretches and deep breathing. Instructor Grand Master Kim has more than 50 years of martial arts training, and has been teaching students at the Wilmette Park District since 1998. Uniforms can be purchased in class. PICKLEBALL FOR ADULTS: BEGINNER/ADVANCED BEGINNER
Age 18 & up
Be part of the fast-growing pickleball trend, and learn how to play this fun sport that combines aspects of tennis, badminton and ping pong! Pickleball is a paddle sport enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. This class includes instruction on dinking, partner work, feet movement, lobs, drop shots, serves and more. We play games to reinforce the new skills we're learning. We provide all the equipment you need. Wednesday mornings or Thursday evenings


SOFTBALL

GIRLS INSTRUCTIONAL SOFTBALL

Grade 1-2
This program features weekly practices and games on Saturdays. Participants learn the basics of softball in a fun environment that allows them to develop skills on practice days and implement them on game days. Coaches pitch on game days with more emphasis placed on how to field, hit, run the bases, and the basic rules of the game. GIRLS SUMMER SOFTBALL
Grade 3-8
We play softball games on Monday nights, and practice on Thursday nights at Howard Park. All activity takes place between 5-9 p.m. We form teams based on school and friend requests. This program relies on parents to volunteer for coaching duties. Those interested may email anna@hotshots4kids.com. All players receive a team jersey. Registration deadline: June 6. Practices begin June 16 and games begin on June 20. Monday and Thursday evenings; no class: Jul. 4.


TRACK AND FIELD

TOT TRACK & FIELD
Age 3-5
This unique class will combine stretching, movement, and other fitness concepts with running, jumping, throwing and other skills used in track and field. Children will work on body coordination, agility, balance, and self-confidence. The session will conclude with a fun-filled track and field meet on the last day of the class. YOUTH TRACK & FIELD
Age 6-10
This class introduces kids to track and field, one of the oldest sports that continues to grow that's highlighted by the Olympics every 4 years. Boys and girls will learn the jumping, running and throwing skills involved in the sport of track and field. They'll practice sprints, relays, long-distance walking, running hurdles, long jump, discus throw and other track and field events. One the last day of class we'll have a fun-filled track and field meet! Please bring a labeled water bottle. Wednesday evenings
