WGC Hosts Women’s Golf Day
On Tuesday May 30, over 70 female golfers, with and without experience, came together at the Wilmette Golf Club to play golf and celebrate the building of community for Women’s Golf Day (WGD).
WGD is a one-day, four-hour event with over 450 iterations held around the world. Participants at the Wilmette Golf Club event had the option of either two hours of lessons or two hours of play, followed by a social event hosted by the Club’s popular restaurant, The Lawn Grill.
This annual event unites women across the globe, and has introduced thousands of new golfers to the sport. WGD is designed to be inclusive of all ages and abilities, and also is intended to transcend race, religion, language, geography or economic status. Since its inception in 2016, Women’s Golf Day has taken place in more than 1,000 locations in nearly 80 countries, including four new countries in 2023: The Gambia, Greece, Peru and Zambia.
“Women’s Golf Day is a great opportunity for all women, whether they want to try golf for the first time, enhance their skills, or meet new friends out on the course,” shared Adam Kwiatkoski, Wilmette Golf Club General Manager. “It engages our female golfers in a charitable cause with global impact on the local level. We love hosting this event!”
