Design Option D Wins Public Vote!

Design Option D wins public voting for Centennial Cooling Towers Project

Community Selects Design Option D for Centennial Cooling Tower Project

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Centennial Cooling Tower sound barrier design vote.

Design Option D received 207 votes, making it the favorite among the six concepts presented. This design features a navy background with a yellow prairie scene, reflecting Wilmette Park District branding and drawing inspiration from the Centennial Prairie on the property. It provides a nature-inspired way to bring the surrounding landscape into a functional infrastructure feature.

Wilmette Park District will use the voting results to guide the final design of the cooling tower sound barrier. The specific application method will be determined based on budget, materials and long-term durability. Options under consideration include a vinyl wrap or decal, a painted mural or another suitable application method.

The Centennial Cooling Tower Replacement Project is expected to continue through spring and early summer.

We will provide future updates as the project progresses. Thank you again for your participation and for helping shape the final look of this project.
