At the Early Childhood Center, children learn in a place where each child meets with approval and success. Our teachers offer children a variety of individual, small and large group activities.

The Wilmette Park District's Early Childhood Center is located at 3000 Glenview Road, in the Community Recreation Center. It offers a morning Preschool program for two, three and four year-olds; a Full-Day Preschool for three and four year-olds; and coordinates an after-school program named CARE for children in grades K-6.

The morning two, three, and four-year-old Preschool programs meet two or three days a week. A morning Preschool program with a mix of older 3's & 4 year-olds meets five days a week. A Preschool Plus option is available, extending the day until 1 p.m. Our Full-Day Preschool program is for three and four-year-olds and meets two, three or five days per week.

Our after-school program for school-age children, CARE, meets two, three or five days per week. The Park District provides bus service for students from Wilmette public and parochial schools.

COVID-19 UPDATES

The Wilmette Park District Early Childhood programs are licensed under the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and follow strict COVID-19 guidelines to ensure that our children stay healthy and safe.

At this time, Morning Preschool, Morning Preschool Plus, and Full-Day Preschool programs are running in-person. Our Early Childhood programs have the following safety protocols in place:

  • Children are required to wear masks, social distance and engage in frequent handwashing.
  • A daily health screening is required to participate in our programs.
  • Children remain in their pod throughout the day, and classrooms have been designed to promote hands-on learning and fun while remaining safe.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Julie Mantice at 847/920-3910.
