Welcome to the Wilmette Park District Before and After School Rec program (BSR & ASR)! We provide extended care for children in grades K-6 attending school districts 39 or 37.
Our program balances structured activities with free time and allows children to play and learn in a supportive setting at select District 39 schools and the Community Recreation Center.
For an in-depth look at our offerings, scroll below to Before & After School Info.
*Priority registration for the 25-26 school year applies to all families currently enrolled in CARE or Campus Clubs only for the 24-25 school year. Priority registration is also extended to siblings entering BSR and/or ASR.
**Resident registration is defined as families who are not currently enrolled in in before or after-school programs.
Follow the links below for additional childcare programs.
At BSR & ASR, we believe in fostering a positive and playful atmosphere. Children enjoy a balance of structured activities and free time where they make new friends, discover new passions and relax after a busy school day. Our program features a diverse range of activities, including art, sports, games, creative play and dedicated homework support.
You know your schedule better than we do—with BSR & ASR, you can select the exact days your child will attend. Your registration and installment payments will reflect the chosen attendance days. Please note, to allow for proper coordination with our school district partners, we require that you choose a consistent schedule for your child’s attendance.

BSR Deposits amount to $20 for each day of the week your child will attend ($100 for 5-day attendance).
ASR Deposits amount to $40 for each day of the week your child will attend ($200 for 5-day attendance).
Notice of withdrawal from BSR & ASR must be submitted to the Park District by the 25th of the month and will be effective the first day of the following month.
For Central and Highcrest BSR students and for all Community Recreation Center ASR students, transportation is provided by District 39 and Wilmette Park District school buses for an additional fee of $568.
Both 5-day ASR and single-day Friday ASR enrollment cover District 39’s Early Dismissal Fridays. On Early Dismissal Fridays, your ASR fees cover care for your child from the time of the early release through 6 pm. Pick up your child from ASR anytime.
Before and After School Rec will not be in session and no alternate programming will be available on the following dates:
Required Electronic Paperwork
The Wilmette Park District uses ePACT to securely collect and manage critical emergency information. ePACT replaces the need to fill out multiple paper forms and ensures we have the most up-to-date and accurate contact and medical information in an emergency.
Need coverage over school days off and seasonal breaks? Register separately for School Days Off and Break Camp programs!
We also host After School Enrichment —the perfect option for students interested in a fun, structured, and specialized class to finish the school day at select D39 schools. School Days Off, Break Camps and After School Enrichment programs are available for registration in our seasonal program guides.
We also offer a robust Preschool program for parents seeking childcare for children age 2-4. Preschool is a year-round program that begins in the fall. Registration for the upcoming school year opens every January.
