What to know about visiting Centennial Pools!
Pool Hours & Schedule Info
- During the season, the most up-to-date pool schedules are posted on our Pool Schedule page
- Please don’t rely on Google for accurate hours. The platform does not allow the schedule to be itemized and we don’t want you to come to the pool expecting to swim and it not be open. This is especially true for pre- and post-season hours.
Inflatables & Restrictions
Permitted Inflatables:
- Maximum dimensions for inflatable: 36 inches length x 36 inches width x 30 inches height .
- Inflatables MUST be transparent all the way through.
Additional Information:
- For the safety of all guests, rafts and oversized floats that may block the lifeguard's view of the water are not permitted.
- Inflatable pool toys (including rafts, tubes, water “wings” and other toys) are not intended as lifesaving or safety devices.
- Inflatable toys are not a substitute for Adult Supervision & U.S. Coast Guard-approved preservers
- An abundance of inflatable toys in a pool can make it difficult for even the most vigilant adults to supervise. Swimmers can become “lost” and difficult to spot among the toys. Even one single, large toy can obscure the pool’s bottom, making it impossible to spot when a swimmer is in distress.
- Cooperation of any directions from lifeguards or safety personnel is required.
Age Requirements
- At the pool, children 12 yrs old and under must be accompanied by an adult or childcare provider over the age of 18.
- Our wading pool is strictly for children age 4 and younger.
Lap Swimming
- Adult Lap Swim is permitted for age 16 and above only. At least, two lanes will always be designated for lap swimming during Public Swim hours.
Swim Lessons
- Group Swim Lessons - Registration should be completed initially by age, 3 – 5 preSchool, 5 – 12 youth, then by ability level. Recommendations for when you’re registering for lessons. If they haven’t been swimming during the off season, register them for the level they finished the season last year, the first session. This will give them a chance to, no pun intended, get their feet wet again and muscle memory to happen. Please register the child for the level they are at, not at the level you’d like them to be. Doing this will help create a positive learning enviroment and appropriate instruction for participants.
- Private Swim Lessons - All private swim lesson requests must be made through the Private Lesson Request form Private Lesson Request Once submitted a head swim lesson instructor will be in touch with more details and to work with you to set up your first lessons. When completing the form, please provide up to date contact information. The instructor will leave 1 voicemail and send 1 e-mail to the listed information. A proof of payment must be presented prior to lessons taking place. If a package of lessons were paid for, the instructor will denote and keep track, letting you know when all lessons have been used.
- Goggles or No Goggles - We recommend NO goggles for level 1 and level 2 swimmers. Becoming dependent on goggles will not help your child adapt and feel comfortable in water as they grow older. Goggles are also not allowed on our diving boards or slides. We want your child's first experience going off the diving board to be positive and feel familiar underwater. Often times the child who panics after going of the diving board for the first time has never felt the sensation of being underwater without goggles.
- Rainy Day Procedure - Lessons will be held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather (thunder or lightining), cancellations will be updated on the pool's Swim and Dive Lesson Rainout Line.
Swim Lesson Make-Up Policies
- Rainy Day Make-Up Lessons -If a class is canceled, a make-up will be scheduled the Friday of that week. One [1] make-up date will be given out per rain-out. Students that are unable to make up a rain-out in another class unless specifically approved by the Head Swim Lesson Instructors or Aquatics Coordinator a head of time. Our best effort will be made to accommodate your request; however, it is not guaranteed as it depends on class availability.
- General Make-Up Lessons - One [1] general make-up lesson is allowed per session. The make-up must be completed during the current session and before the last week of the session, absolutely no exceptions. Advanced notice must be given via email to sfroelich@wilpark.org if a lesson will be missed. Make-up lessons are not permitted for a forgotten lesson or a lesson that has already taken place before we receive notification. Prorated rates will not be issued for missed lessons.
Cancellation/Refund Policy
- Group Lessons -Under two weeks of a session’s start date, we will refund your fee paid, less a 10% surcharge, up to a maximum of $75. After the start of a session, a prorated refund for the remaining classes will be issued, less a 10% surcharge with no maximum limit. This policy is strictly enforced to allow appropriate lesson preparations. With a few exceptions (such as illness with a doctor's note) full refunds will not be given. Your understanding is deeply appreciated. Refund requests will need to be approved by the Aquatics and Ice Supervisor or the Aquatics Coodinator.
- Private Lessons - All lessons must be paid for prior to instruction being given. If a lesson has been scheduled and the participant gives, at least, 24 hours notice of cancellation, there will be no charge. If a lesson does not show up, nor at least, 24 hours notice given, the cost of the lesson will be charged.
