Boys and girls play in separate leagues divided by grade level. The season consists of one preseason practice, eight games, and a weekly one-hour practice chosen by the coach. Teams are formed by school attended. Some teams consist of players from multiple schools depending on registration numbers. Players attending a school with more than one team are split equally amongst that school's teams. NOTE: friend, team, and coach requests are not accepted.
Uniforms & Equipment: The Wilmette Park District provides team jerseys, and they should be worn to all games. Participants should come to games and practices with a water bottle, clean indoor gym shoes, and their own basketball. See the basketball rules table for grade-appropriate basketball sizes.
Coaches: The Park District relies on volunteer coaches and scorekeepers for this program. Each team must provide a volunteer coach and scorekeeper in order to compete. Please note there is limited practice space this winter. Depending on the time and day, you may be practicing with another team. Interested in coaching or scorekeeping? Please contact Andrew Valett at avalett@wilpark.org and scroll to the bottom of the page for the registration link and manual.
Games & Preseason Practices: Games and preseason practices are held at Highcrest Middle School, Wilmette Junior High, McKenzie School, and the Community Recreation Center between 8 am and 3 pm.
